[009: Video]

[He had wanted to talk with Omega about Seven's "I think your best friend is romantically interested in you" nonsense. Instead...]

I have nightmares about my children dying.

[He pauses, eyes wide. Damn flood!]

[He quickly turns the feed off, before he starts talking about his daughter the last thing he needs is everyone knowing about that.]

Though in my time such a thing was well beyond our grasp, in terms of technology, the idea was still discussed in less scientific terms. However, I promise you that through the concepts of adoption and stepchildren, we are still quite capable of comprehending the notion of feeling akin to those whom we are not related by blood. I was teasing, and I think there is simply a vast difference between that and claiming parenthood over an entire race. It is too large -- the larger a group becomes the easier it is to generalize, assign numbers in place of names, to care less.

I have changed the course of time, I have created a universe and I would destroy one, all to protect them. I am quite sure I care about them. And I would also say being the Founder of my people is different from simple adoption. [But all that doesn't stop him from doing very unparental things -- like driving some mad or vaporizing them or seducing them. He's a terrible father :c]

Do you love them all equally?

...Does a parent ever? Disowning happens. I cannot tolerate those who would wilfully harm their siblings by becoming traitors.

That suggests a parent, yes, but not a very good one.

Do you lead by example?

I try to stop them. [Sometimes.] I cannot help them anymore if they do not listen; and in war, sacrifices need to be made if to win and victory is needed to survive.

I try to adhere to the law. [Lies. He petrified one President and tried to have another murdered. Screw the rules, he's daddy the Lord Founder.]

Not the answer to my question. Do you wish for your "children" to behave as you do?

[identity profile] shortsghtedlove.livejournal.com 2011-03-13 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I shall not force them, as long as they abide to the laws. Why would I? They needn't become biologists or be interested in music or any of the other things I like to do. But there are laws which must be respected. A society without them would collapse, after all.
