[He quickly opens the door when he feels Omega's presence, stepping aside to let his friend in, anxious.]

[Omega's anxious himself standing for a moment, not looking Rassilon in the eye. The door closes and Omega hugs him.] I'm worried. [Scared is more like it, but 'worried' will do for now.]

[Rassilon hugs him back, not the least bit reassured by Omega's behaviour.] About what?

What if we... what if it goes wrong? [He sounds absolutely certain that it will, after all, that's what his life as been like, hasn't.]

[He blinks. And then looks almost hurt. Why is Omega so sure it can only go wrong?] I will never leave you. [No matter how any hypothetical romance were to turn out, he would never reject his friend. They'd be friends still, he's sure of that.]

[He holds him tighter.] How are you so sure? Nothing ever works for us, Rass. Nothing.

[He doesn't mind.] When I thought you were dead... [He doesn't know how to convey the sheer desperation he had felt in that moment, in the control room, when the reality of what had just happened had hit him. He doesn't know how to convey the grief and the rage he had felt afterwards.] I can't be without you. [That's the closest he can get to it right now.]

[Omega feels tears start to blur his vision, the emotion of the moment and the truth, for him, behind that phrase 'I can't be without you' signifies everything that he's afraid of.]

...Omega? [He steps back a little, to see his friends face and... Oh no. Again! Could he just once stop making...] Omega, don't cry.

[He rubs his eyes and looks away.] I'm just… I'm sorry.

[He swallows.] What is it, my friend?

[He looks at him. Oh so brave!] I can't live without you either.

[Rassilon looks back.] All the more reason to never leave you.

[Omega nods but doesn't speak. He can't.]

[He reaches for Omega's arm, touching it lightly.]

[Omega reacts to the touch, reaching out him in turn.]

[Rassilon lets him and smiles slightly.] Better now?

Better. [He's not crying.]

Good. If... it upsets you, we need not talk about it. [For now. But he doesn't say that.]

[Omega nods thoughtfully.] I think that might be best, for now.

I see. [He's still smiling.] But you understand, yes? I will never leave you.

[He smiles cautiously.] I understand.

[He's a bit disappointed by the caution but leans forward, his forehead against Omega's.]

[Omega leans against him, his arms going around his shoulders.

[Rassilon returns the gesture, practically hugging his friend.]
